Last October, Åke Axelsson Produktion AB in Skirö, was bought by Gemla Fabrikers AB in Diö. Thanks to this transaction, the furniture production in Skirö will continue as usual, supplying their main customers, Gärsnäs AB and Svenskt Tenn, with high quality goods. Åke Axelsson will also continue to make parts of his collection there.
Gemla Fabrikers AB is the only company in Scandinavia who makes and sells bentwood furniture and Åke Axelsson has several bentwood chairs in their collection. He has designed the Gemla stand at 2009 year´s Stockholm Furniture Fair, where he presents a new bentwood chair, called Iris – inspired by swedish 1930th functionalism.

At the Gärsnäs stand, Åke presents a new conference chair, Zen Konferens, a new conference table Rotor, armchair Zenit II and sound absorbing chair Akustik in a new standard colour.
